[Breaking News] Holy Cow! The Chicago Cubs just won the World series! ⚾

If it makes everyone feel better, Turkey's foreign policy is now commonly described as "Neo-Ottomanism" (here's the Wikipedia page), replacing their previous policy of "Zero Problems with Neighbors" (which replaced strong ties with the West and antagonist relationships with many of its neighbors). Additionally, in the past few years, the government has generally pushed a public reevaluation of the Ottoman legacy in domestic sphere, including suggesting that all students be required to learn the Ottoman language in school, praise for late Ottoman sultans who previous official historiography generally viewed as ineffective or corrupt, and even the 2013 Gezi protests were instigated because the government wanted to rebuild an Ottoman barracks (and turn it into a shopping mall) in one of the few green spaces in central Istanbul.

What I'm saying is, for all that Erdogan can be criticized for, maybe just maybe he helped the Cubs win the series. Something to think about, for sure.
