'...seating not up to Howard's liking .. Ed Bradley memorial service was a bit of disaster...'

translation: Howard is total buffoon in regards towards contemporary, legitimate or otherwise, news correspondence and journalism, and only recently became aware of 60 Minutes correspondent Ed Bradley after they shamelessly profiled him for his recent, 2006 Move to Sirius. But Howard realized the profile and interview w Bradley greatly impressed his his father, Ben Stern, and may have even somehow legitimized Howard's status as an respected or admired, leading broadcaster across the industry, in the eyes of his father at least.

So when Bradley passed away some months later, Howard of course mooched an invitation to his fellow broadcaster's memorial, making sure both of his parents knew that Bradley's producer specifically invited he & Beth; Even if they never really did. Howard insisted Gary find out who's coordinating the event and just get him on the list (which he never really did) And when Howard strolled up, unannounced, he was quickly seated with the rest of the general public, forced to watch the service on tv monitors. Howard through a fit and refused to calm down, hopping his nuisance would draw some needed attention or engage some the VIP guests in the main room, especially since was felt for sure he was likely the most famous person in attendance, after Bradley, who he legitimately gauged must be as famous Nicole Richie or Regis Philbin?

bc truth be told, Howard never even knew Ed Bradley existed prior to their sponsorship-news segment where he helped him sell Sirius Radio memberships with a series softball and no follow-up questions.
