Can Gabapentin withdrawal cause SEVERE back pain?

Rx Gabapentin in treatment and over the last 3 months have titrated down from this med as follows: 1200 to 900, two weeks; 900 to 600, three weeks; 600 to 300, three weeks; 300 to 0, since 01/17/16.

Just got labs back - very high lipid profile (1690, Tri; 310, Chol).

Went to urgent care and was told that it is sub-clinical shingles (no rash) and without reading my chart where I had just explained to the nurse that I had begun my final titration from Gabapentin, Rx pain meds and...Gabapentin with a titration ceiling of 900mg were suggested.

Currently taking 0.5mg Clonazepam 3x/day (have been for 4 years), 100mg of Sertraline 1x day, 50mg of Trazadone 1x day (at night for sleep), Lomotil, PRN.

I took the Rx pain med from urgent care (Tramadol) and it had no effect on my pain, just made me tired. I discontinued. I am still at a '10' for pain (and I have a very high pain tolerance) - '9' if I can find a comfortable position, but this doesn't last long. And, no, I'm not taking Gabapentin again.

Over the last year, I have had two auto-immune issues (or so I'm told) - one in the ears and one in the eyes...both of which the doctor proposed auto-immune as the nature of the issue, but not the cause. After a blood panel, it was concluded that there are no issues with my immune system and a cause has yet to be identified.

With the above two issues and now this, along with IBS-D for the last 14yrs (yes, all tests of exclusion were performed at onset and again last year minus the endoscopy/colonoscopy), I am beginning to think my body is attacking itself and I have yet to find a doc that will take the time to investigate.
