Canada’s Harper Makes Surprise Iraq Visit in Fight Against ISIS

Harper's interest in the Middle East is partially economic, political and vastly ideological.

Some people, more in tune with Harper's particular religious practices in the Evangelical movement, would infer that part of his interest for the Middle East also have a religious background which would also help to explain his interest in Israel.

Scriptures do speak of the rebuilding of the Solomon Temple in Jerusalem as a condition for the second coming of the Christ, Something every Evangelical faithful aspires to and pray for.

I will go on the tangent here so people can understand the previous paragraph

Although that would also mean to demolish the Dome of the Rock and Al Aqsa Mosque , which are two of the most holy sites in Islam, both constructed on Temple Mount, on top of the ruins of the Temple of Solomon.

Muslims also want to make Jerusalem the capital of the next Global Caliphate that will bring forth the conversion of the entire planet to Islam as a condition to the coming of the end of days.

So basically, the Evangelical want to see the Temple of Solomon rebuilt so their pal Jesus can come back, the Muslims want Jerusalem to be cleansed of infidels so the Global Caliphate can begin and the Jews also want to see the Temple rebuilt so their own savior can come for the first time.

End of the tangent

Anyway, every time Harper goes to the Middle East, there are many valid questions that can and should, be raised.

There is no way that Harper does not have a religious motivation to intervene in the Middle East but he also has geopolitical, financial and sociological reasons to go there and to be a "player" in this very troubled part of the world.
