Canadians elect Liberal majority. Ending Stephen Harpers 9 year rule.

Harper shitlist:

(preface)

Merged the Reform party with the Progressive Conservatives (through the Canadian Alliance) to create the Conservative Party. This killed the Progressive Conservatives. Instead a bigoted, hateful, inept party (the Reform) took the helm for the entire country. Reform might sound good to you, but he DROPPED the reform part, but kept all the GREAT hatred his predecessor Stockwell Day had. Day was the same, while he didn't know how to shut up unlike Harper, he did support "reform" - electoral reform. The Liberal government of Jean Chrétien called a snap election while Day was unprepared (just assuming power of the new Alliance while he was attempting to "unite the right".) He was politically skewered. Smelling blood, Harper challenged him for leadership. Harper is a usurper.

(shitlist cont)

Tried to get Canada to join the Iraq War

Tried to form a coalition against Paul Martin, then denounced Stephane Dion, Layton and Duceppe for planning the same (overthrow of a Conservative minority government)

Muzzled climate scientists

Ignoring murdered aboriginal women

Prorogued parliament TWICE. Once to save his government from a no confidence vote (fall of his government). How the Governor General agreed and how he isn't in jail blows my mind.

Omnibus bills - a package of different bills all voted on at once. During a minority government he would attach amendments to the budgets in EACH ONE. Meaning EACH BILL was a budget bill and thus a vote of confidence. The opposition could never organise against these giant bills to bring down government because they were infodumped upon them.

Climate change denial

Does not demand his party members unambiguously support women's reproductive rights. Because of how Westminster systems work, he can demand this or remove them from the party at will.

The "fair elections act" harms the homeless and students, this election is proof of the incredible amount of complaints to elections Canada.

The anti-terrorism act is the PATRIOT act by another name. Completely oversteps it's mandate and violates human rights.

The citizen act has turned upwards of 800k Canadians into second-class citizens.

TPP fast tracking

Politics of fear and division, aimed towards muslims.

multiple scandals.. too many to list.

a staffer leaked NATO documents. then they commited the same sins they attacked the liberals on, when it came to election finance rules.

then there was the detainee issue (human rights), and harper was found in contempt for refusing to cooperate, so he prorogued parliament for the first time.

then there was the robocall election scandal, that gave (presumably non-conservative) voters false information, conservative staffers have been imprisoned for this.

lied about the cost of new F35 fighter jets

senate expense scandal is still massive right now. the canadian senate is not elected, it is appointed by the prime minister. it's a clown's job for his friends. their function is being the final say but typically won't disagree with the house. 4 senators falsified use of public money, one is on trial and he's done for.

there's rumors of a scandal involving former foreign minister john baird. i won't get into it, because it's borderline slander, but the rumors are BAD. think BRITISH bad. he left the public spotlight a few months ago just before the rumors surfaced. basically, he is guilty as sin.

i'm sure there's more... so much more. i'm so tired today was so long.
