Can't desolder mouse switch

Pro-tip:

rule no. 1 when desoldering during repairs...

1) if the part you're desoldering is non-servicable (i.e. it's defective or will be discarded after removal) you simply snip its pins - or use a cutting plier to remove as much material as possible from the component- so you can more easily desolder.

It's a quite lot easier to desolder components when the only thing remaining (literally) are a couple of millimeters of the pins sticking out of topside of the PCB. You can just poke the pins with the soldering iron, and they'll fall away by themselves.

Just be careful when cutting the pins that you don't put stress on the PCB. The mechanical stress needs to go "upwards" into the component, so never rest the cutting plier on the PCB to get more leverage when cutting.
