So does this mean the cubs are technical world champs right now? Has baseball had any integrity since 16? Kind of feels like nothing the past few years matters. Some kid got shelled out of the mlb on his debut and never got a chance again. Darvish lost money and had serious head problems for a long time. The yankees rightfully feel cheated out of a shot to play for the ws. Is altuve even remotely good? His away record would indicate no he isn't even close to being good. Kershaw and the Dodgers could argue they should have rings. I'd take the ALCS runner up and the Dodgers from 17 and let them play one game for all the marbles. Anything is better than leaving this sit the way it is. No player punishment a few people get fired and nothing else leaves a bad taste. It's like when apple gets fined 6 mil for slowing down phones and makes 10 billion off of phone sales from the people they screwed. What incentive is there to stop? The answer is none, every player with knowledge of the scandal should have a lifetime ban from baseball if you're going to hand that out to Pete rose for betting on his own team to win and you're going to keep the steroid era out of the hall of fame. This is hands down the biggest competitive edge ever gained from cheating in any major sport I can think of off the top of my head. And definitely baseball's second biggest scandal only behind the 1919 black sox losing intentionally. This whole thing is disgusting and a big blow for the mlb.
