I had been trying to break up with my abusive, stalking bipolar boyfriend and he would never take no for an answer, ever. I finally just slept with another guy. He read my journals then showed up at other dude's house with a suitcase packed, being all dramatic and shit. The apartment we shared was in my name and was mine. I could not believe his gall.

He ended up slicing my wrist open and hauling me to a mental hospital to get doped up again like a little Stepford Wife so I'd be more compliant. When I tried to tell the staff I was a victim of domestic violence, no one would believe me because he was handsome like Keifer Sutherland and pulled those sociopath puppy dog eyes like sociopaths do when they are covering their tracks. Like they are soooooo misunderstood.

I get so mad when people tell an abused woman "omg just leave him, there are "resources!" Based on my experiences, no, no there are not. You can explain this to someone all day long and until they have to navigate the systems, they will continue to parrot that bullshit that there is help available, then pat themselves on the back, like they've "made a difference." It removes them from the responsibility of actually having to give a damn.
