So you're saying that rape and lies cause the same amount of trauma mentally? I'm assuming people have lied about you before. How did that go?

A false rape accusation turns a man into a social pariah. Full stop. There are very few people who can take being dragged through the mud in the court of public opinion without incurring severe emotional trauma as a result.

Furthermore, getting raped doesn't damage your likelihood of getting a job - if you can overcome the trauma that's basically the end of it, whereas a false accusation, even if proven false, will essentially remain on your resume when any employer can google you and see that you had a rape accusation leveled at you. Which would probably impact your ability to get a job to a severe degree.

You're not counting the social trauma that's incurred through a false accusation, which, in the age of the internet, does not heal.
