You are promoting your wife’s armchair diagnosis. No armchair diagnoses are allowed on the sub and you are bringing one in, whether it’s yours or your wife’s. The reasons it’s an armchair diagnosis?

1) A bachelors in special education is not the same as a Masters degree in Psychology and additional training to diagnose with autism. Most people with just a Masters in Psychology don’t even diagnose for autism and will refer out to someone who specializes specifically for evaluating. Your wife does not have the qualifications to make this type of evaluation.

2) There is a severe lack of information that we receive from a reality show that would inhibit even people who are qualified (which you and your wife are not) from making a diagnosis. Making a diagnosis not based on standardized procedure would be unethical.

Please delete yours and refrain from armchair diagnosing in the future. Beyond the contestants (who probably won’t see it) these statements can be harmful for people who actually have these diagnoses. Admitting your fault would be way cooler of you than sticking your heels in and acting defensive.. thank you
