Consolidating a few unpopular opinions about Zack

I agree and disagree.

Yeah, no one comes on here without wanting some degree of clout. He managed to sneak in that he’s “starting his own law firm soon” in there, so there’s that. He also wasn’t nearly as apologetic about choosing Irina over Bliss as he should have been, imo. I don’t disagree that he was acting a bit self-righteous over the whole thing. That being said, yes he’s kind of awkward and strange, but I think it has a lot to do with his childhood trauma and how hard he had to work to succeed. Unfortunately, this is a portrayal of real life. People who had to overcome a lot aren’t always gonna be eloquent and perfectly put together, they may often be awkward, have trouble with social cues, and not read into situations correctly. Zach isn’t perfect, but he’s still authentically himself imo, which is way more than I can say for Irina.

I still think Micah is a terrible person (as is Irina) and maybe Paul stumbled with his words a little, but I think it’s only because deep down he could sense the type of person she really is. If she had been a decent person with some flaws, and not an all around mean girl who fakes being nice when it’s convenient for her, I would have actually found his comment kind of sexist (which it is to an extent, but I don’t think that’s how he intended it). I’m not saying she doesn’t have a right to be hurt by it, but he had his reasons for saying it, and given examples of her previous behavior on the show, he had a right to feel the way he did imp. I also don’t think he’s a loser at all. He’s an intelligent, collected and attractive guy who can do WAY better than Micah. But like Zach, he is a bit socially awkward, and probably doesn’t know how to affectively choose a partner that is compatible with him (it’s not like solving a math problem, after all) and probably overanalyzes surface level bullshit instead of focusing on core values and building a future together.
