Have us socialists not made progress on our issues when we ditch the political establishment's "proper channels" and organize marches instead? The protest this post is about was organized by socialists and students, and it put a hell of a lot more political pressure on the our government than any town hall meeting or calling campaign or single vote would. Getting angry oppressed people out into the streets works. The Democrats don't call for that shit. We have a Dem Governor, a Dem Mayor, Dem city councilors, Dem everybody, but they shot, sprayed and gassed us anyway. Look at everything we've won so far as a result of organizing by POC and Socialists that the Democrats failed to give us. They do not speak for me. They do not speak for my class. I do not support them.
