Condom companies should have a 'First Time' kit with a couple different sized condoms, lube, and sex do's and dont's inside of a plain brown box.

So, worst case, your parents are going over finances and see that you bought something at a drug store. Or, if for some reason it does show up and they see, they now know their son is responsible enough to buy his own condoms so that he doesn't knock someone up when he starts having sex so that he has to drop out of the college they are helping him pay for. Unless your folks think you shouldn't have sex before marriage, I think they would take note, maybe be relieved, but not say much about it. They'd save that for if you ever brought someone home for them to meet. The worst that can happen is really not that bad here.

I get that sex is embarrassing for a lot of people but I don't think it should get in the way of being responsible about it given the consequences. If your friends can't bring themselves to buy condoms, then they probably aren't ready for sex yet anyways. That is okay! If they are having sex without protection this is also a sign that they are not ready to have sex, but that is not okay.
