Controversial rollout of speed cameras in Toronto marred by vandalism, theft - The Globe and Mail

I don't see a problem with speed cameras or enforcing the limit at all.

I just have an issue with "we're lowering speed limits for safety despite it not being relevant to the accidents caused! Btw here's a bunch of speed cameras in those areas we just lowered because this isn't a cash grab!"

Also the new speeds limits weren't even rolled out as "new" limits, they just changed the signs to 50 instead of 60. Which is fine because you're expected to read road signs but majority are likely autopiloted because they "know" the speed limit which has now changed with no actual indication.

These two things could be completely unrelated but I sincerely doubt it.
