Yep. We’ve got a spot like that near where I live. Speed limit is 55 mph for miles and miles with nothing around. All of a sudden it drops to 35 for like less than a mile when you hit this tiny town and there are always a ton of cops just sitting there waiting for people who missed the sign. The town itself is completely dead, but they get a ton of funding ticketing tourists who use the highway to pass through to the tourist spots an hour down the road.

Of course the tourist spots are just as bad, but for different reasons. They’ll pull you over if you go to one of the fancier areas and don’t look like you belong. Some of our friends all went cruising one night at the fanciest beach and we were pulled over multiple times because he drove a shitty old car. We were all like 18 and I guess they thought we were out there selling drugs or making trouble. Eventually he got a ticket for going 26 in a 25 and we just said fuck it and went home.
