Cops care what music you listen to

Ok, well, I'm glad you're not offended and I'm sorry if I'm coming across as a dick.

Let me explain why I find it hard to believe.

First off, the original claim was "more zilactin please?", so let's analyze that by parts.

  • That's a three word sentence. It's not impossible, but it does defy belief that a baby would speak for the first time stringing three words that it's never used before. If you had told me that you were using "please" and "more" regularly prior to this I would be more inclined to believe you

  • Zilactin, pronounced (presumably): d͡ʒai:lak:tin . Not only is it a three syllable word, but it includes sounds that are usually not available to a baby physiologically until 5-7 years of age: http://mommyspeechtherapy.com/?p=754

  • Nearly every baby starts speaking in single syllables, followed by words formed of repetitions of those syllables. The words "mama" and "papa/dada" are a direct consequence of this. I'm not saying that every baby's first word is one of those, but it's most likely a single or repeated syllable using the very limited range of sounds that are available at that age: (b/d/n/p/m). The "L" in "please" is particularly difficult for young babies to pronounce.

So it's just the combination of those things that makes the story dubious.
