This was a believable story until they took it off the rails with the last two sentences.

No one will see this, but it reminded me of of a scene from one of my high school graduation parties. I never really did much with people from school because my family was super religious and poor. I would hangout with my friends from church and play basketball 24/7 though.

One day my cousin gets an invite to this pool party and asks me to go with him. I didn't want to, but he finally convinced me. We show up in our swimsuits and most of the popular girls who I was always friendly with were there. We put our stuff down and take off our shirts.

All of a sudden the girls started acting different, doing the whole whispering and giggling thing. I get a little self conscious about it and think about leaving. I finally tell my cousin I'm taking off and hop out of the pool. One of the girls who I had crushed on for years asks me to stay.

I tell her "nah, y'all are acting weird."

She says, "no we're not, just come over his and swim for a little longer."

I finally relent because she was being nice and go over to swim beside her. She is still acting strange and I start getting really annoyed. I finally ask her what the hell is going on and she finally caved.

She leans over and whispers, "we had no idea you have a six-pack of abs."

I'm dumbfounded. I look at her like she's crazy and tell her I've had a six-pack since I was 11 years old. I had always just assumed six-pack abs were common because everyone I played basketball with had abs like me. Evidently is was more rare than I thought and I should have been taking advantage of the situation for years, but I'm an idiot.
