Why don't I just use Vilja as a base, change everything in it to point to my follower, Erinaari, instead. I built none of the bones that make it up. I just changed a few things. That's acceptable, isn't it? 100% MY WORK. NO STEALL!11! Emma doesn't own a structure so it's all kewlcats. WHO CARES?!?~?!

No. Just no. I have respect for Emma and the amount of work she and the others have put into Vilja. Into making those bones that make the follower as fleshed out as she is. If I want to make my follower as fleshed out Vilja I should learn how to make those bones myself. Modders let others look at their work as a way for them to see how they set it up. Yes, you can learn from making changes to their plugin. But what's important is you are learning how to do it yourself. Not to change things, give it a new name, and say it was "inspired". If you want to publish the changed file you should let the person whose work you've altered know. Even if it was used as base. It's still THEIR WORK THAT HAS BEEN ALTERED. The changes Mangaclub made are his work. But the bones he didn't make. But you're probably rolling your eyes at me, going: Who cares? It's just the structure! Well, let me go back to how I said I have respect for Emma and her team behind Vilja. They spent A LOT of time working on that structure for the follower. Just for me to come along, change it up, give it a new name and say it was "inspired". That is just disrespectful.

"This is all nothing more than a crusade by a mod author who realizes that his mod has been superseded by another, so he's trying to tear down someone else's work."

How awfully presumptuous of you.

"Of course, none of that is relevant to modding in the Creation Kit as no modder has ever established any legal protection for a CK mod."

Seriously. You have no idea how wrong you are about that.
