but really, so lets say youre in a place where only mind altering drugs will help you and without them youre going to commit suicide, then i give you the drugs and you feel better and are able to move on. sure, maybe the drugs saved you. heck maybe youd even say i saved you. heck maybe youd even say the car that transported me from where i procured the drugs to you saved you.

But seriously, lets say someone you know loves cookies and is having a hard time finding them, and is on the verge of suicide because of this, and soon some guy gives them cookies. youre saying that cookies just saved their life, and look, im not saying he didnt. im just saying its not the same as what someone typically means when they say "xyz saved my life", and if you asked me its being a little melodramatic. perhaps you wouldve comitted suicide without the cookies, but did the cookies really save your life? definitely not in the same sense that a life guard who saves someone from drowning saves their life, or giving food to a starving person saves that persons life. thats all im saying.

and nothing i said was racist, i didnt judge the people, i simply mentioned a place known for its scarcity of food. you assumed i meant it in a racist way, i just said it because i thought it would be simpler to mention a geographic location rather than saying "say youd been born in a place where the scarcity of food was causing problems". Thats like saying its racist to say theres sweatshops in china, im not saying everyone in china is in a sweatshop, im just relaying information about a place to give you some context for the concept im trying to illustrate.

I dont doubt that the drugs made a big difference in your life, and i hate to say it, but the fact that you said you werent suicidal only makes my point all the more true, you were being dramatic. What you meant was "these drugs changed my life for the better.". And hey its not illegal to say something like that, but unless you actually meant that the drugs were like food for a starving person or antibiotics for someone with a disease, it actually makes it sound like youre a bit too congratulatory of the drugs. im not saying you are some junky, in fact i assumed you werent, thats why this whole time ive been effectively saying "you dont really mean that"
