Credible work from home opportunities in Ottawa?

Hi there! (I'm using a copy/paste unless specific q's are asked) First off, I've had a bit of a bumpy ride since my hiring in November to be completely honest. They recently expanded (we're at something like 700 teachers and +4500 students) and then Chinese New Year arrived with little preparation for us 'teachers' and we experienced a drop in demand because everyone went on holiday. Everyone is back now though, and the company communicates these expected swings to us... more? better? We now get weekly updates is what I'm saying.
The job only requires a bachelors degree but anything that supplements that in favor of teaching experience will look great. The work is done through their own website/web portal, and you basically skype while walking through a powerpoint presentation with the student.
The job is considered an independent contractor gig, but there is still a fair amount of timeliness and responsibility involved in giving feedback or marking unit assessments. You also teach in beijing hours, so I teach from 6am-9am. Other teachers in this time zone who work full time work from 3am-9am. You can make yourself available outside of these hours as well, but the premise is that there is a "peak period" and you have to have at least 7.5 hours available during that time. Any particular questions you might have?
Also, despite the bumps, it's a straightforward job and the basic idea is you present a PowerPoint to a kid between 5-12 yrs old. Some kids know a lot of English, some kids have no english at all. It's a challenge but if you like teaching and like kids it's fun. I'm still working here and I really enjoy it.
Another qualifier is they prefer North American English, so strong accents are not desirable.
Hope this helps! Also, you can use this link if you're interested: http://teacher-recruitment.vipkid.com.cn/home.shtml?refereeId=1145165
