I don't think UBI is a good idea right now, although I love the idea for in the near future. We need to secure the safety nets in place before we can consider replacing them with UBI. I don't think I want to give republicans a silver bullet to kill every social welfare program in one fell swoop.

I'd still vote for yang, though, and I'd be willing to try his ideas out. He would just would have to be very clear about how he can prevent republicans from destroying my life in 8 years when I'm already used to living with the new income. It's pretty clear that they would have zero qualms about outright killing it, blaming the democrats, and not losing a single vote
