Creed director Ryan Coogler: “Black art is complicated. Because there is no white art. Because, whether people want to admit it or not, in this country, in this culture, white is seen as the norm... there’s no need to identify it as anything, it’s looked at as standard.”

Which people of color in particular would you say has the resources to fund their own studios?

I don't know, but according to you there are millions of minorities just aching to spend their hard earned money on these diverse films that no one is making, so it shouldn't be a big risk.

Are you the racist one in assuming that no minorities have the funds or ability to raise the funds to start independent film studios? I'm not even talking just blacks but all minorities pooling their resources together? They can't make a Kickstarter or something?

And in the past, how successful have those studios been, would you say?

So if they weren't successful, it's all white people's fault for not buying tickets to those studios' movies? Where were all the minorities to spend their money to see these films?

The percentage determining who is a Native American is up to their own communities. It's not my place to suggest otherwise.

So before a studio does a casting call to fill their required Native American actor quota they need to contact some community board in the reservation and have them take blood sample tests or dig through census records and then they'll give the studio some list of potential actors arranged by % of Native American heritage. Do the ones who have more Native blood get to audition first or get longer auditions? Is this how you think movie casting should work? Not, y'know, based on whether someone is actually a good actor or is right for the part?

Is basketball a major world export like Hollywood movies are? If so, then maybe. It's entertainment like any other.

Wow you're really serious aren't you. So a team should be forced to higher less skilled players based on race?

Wait, why does it matter if it's a major world export? I thought this was about diversity in America too, since America is so diverse? How come the NBA is so racist against Indians and Jews and Asians and why aren't they equally represented with blacks?

Heritage isn't the same thing as race.

Right, I forgot that white people have no culture and it's completely fine to just lump in people whose ancestors immigrated from different countries. Are you also saying Asians should be considered one big homogenous group in these hiring quotas?

White people will get along just fine regardless of the origin of their cousins. I'm not particularly worried about being fair to white people since they've had the industry in a stranglehold since it began. There will never be a dearth of white people in cinema so I don't give a shit about advocating for them.

But there will be a dearth if you have your way... an enforced exclusion from employment of a certain group based on their skin color. Nice, man. But it's justified to you in the name of getting some revenge for past transgressions, even though these aren't the people who committed them? Should we just kick white people out of the film industry altogether for like 50 years and then call it even or are white people expected to bear this guilt until the end of time? It's wrong for them to have a strangehold on the industry they started in the first place? Again, no one is prevented other people from started movie studios, the only barrier is that they must make films that audiences want to pay money to see.
