Croatian FA has sacked Niko Kovač from managing the NT, new coach will be announced until 21st September

I don't know about Kovac tactics but however I do know that he wasn't happy even with his big 5-1 win vs Norway. For him it wasn't about the score it was about the play. We didn't play well with Stimac and even in the end of Bilic we lost games to teams like Georgia. We have always been prone to losing to bad teams under every coach in our history.

Niko Kovac called the players out for not performing. They are the 11 on the field who need to get it done and they haven't been for a long time. This has nothing to do with coaches anymore. I do understand sacking him but he wasn't the problem at the end of the day and the new coach will take over the same mess that's been there.

I never said this team is "loaded" because the fact is it's not.

I don't get what you mean about Vrsaljko who is playing each week is Sassuolo. It's not like Rakitic and Modric didn't take a similar path to their road to Barcelona and Madrid. Dinamo/Tottenham/Madrid. There are stepping stones to get playing time and improve on decent sides. Rakitic was Basel/Schalke/Seville/Barcelona. Sure they had slightly better clubs but he is on the right track for his age with a steady growth to one day make it to a big club.

Perisic is playing well for NT and at Wolfsburg the only time he wasn't playing was when he was injured or not fully fit to play 90 minutes.

The biggest issue I have with the NT is they come in like it's a vacation now days. It's away from their big clubs and onto a relaxing NT break.

This team isn't 5 star. There are many gaps and empty positions. I'm not mad at Kovac being sacked but I'm mad at the players who have shown me nothing but excuses after every bad result. We can keep pushing through coaches but that isn't going to fix this.
