Curious.. what's your experience(s) with Ottawa Police been like?

Ran across a parked officer down in the market who observed myself and two friends drinking cans of Kokanee on our walk to the bar. It was lightly raining at the time.

Officer took the two cans and our IDs and the proceeded to take something like 20+ minutes to write the two open alcohol tickets. I'm quite convinced that he purposefully had us stand in the rain, which had picked up, as punishment. During the long wait a second squad car pulled up, fires up his flashing lights, I guess to provide backup? I mean we were three smartly dressed rain-soaked teenagers, not gang bangers. The second officer to arrive was immediately rude and confrontational.

The first Officer finally gets off his ass and gets out of the car to give us our tickets. I sarcastically thanked him for giving us a break, and that's when both Officers started getting more aggressive. They didn't liked being talked back to. At one I point I said, not shouted, that you two are being ass holes...

Well that didn't fly well. They rushed me, grabbed me and slammed me up against their car. They were enraged, saying "you don't call a city of Ottawa police office an asshole". Ended up cuffing me and putting me in the cruiser.

Once inside the cruiser I advised the Officer that I want his badge number and that I'd be filing a formal complaint. He told me if I shut up he'd let me go; not wanting to spend the night in the drunk tank on a matter of principle, I agreed. He gave me an extra public intoxication ticket for their trouble.

These guys acted like that had a one ton cocaine bust over two small cans of Kokanee. It was ridiculous, and we told them as much which led to them escalating the situation.

I would have fought the tickets, but I couldn't afford to take a day off work at the time.

tldr; my experience with them was quite negative, and OPS demonstrated a holier-than-thou, confrontational attitude.
