that is actually incorrect. Maybe it is true if you take qualifiers into account. But most of the players in the competition are in foreign leagues. African players have spoken out about it. And Many African players refuse to participate in the tournament because they prioritize their careers. It is the established ones who mostly participate in it. So the number of local players is actually higher than it should be because better players are refusing to participate in the tournament.

I am not saying they should push it. But there is no point for European FAs to do something that African FAs do not want to do
