The more i think about it, the more this idea makes sense.
The timeline is:
Fredbear's Family Diner: featuring golden freddy and golden bonnie. Location of first child death that turns into the puppet
Freddy Fazbear's Pizza #1: Featuring the goldens, the puppet, and the original 4 suits. according to FNAF2 phone guy, this location was "Uh... that old restaurant was kind of left to rot for quite a while" and "The idea at first was to repair them...uh, they even started retrofitting them with some of the newer technology, but they were just so ugly, you know? The smell...uh, so the company decided to go in a whole new direction and make them super kid-friendly." This potentially implies that the child murders occurred there that got stuffed into the suits.
Freddy Fazbear's Pizza #2: the location for FNAF2. Implied to be the new face, requiring there to be an old face. Features the new toy suits. The supposed location of the bite of 87, and possibly more murders involving a yellow suit.
Freddy Fazbear's Pizza #3:, Possibly the same building as #1. The location of FNAF1. featuring the original four plus golden freddy.
I think the springtrap incident occured at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza #1 just before FNAF2. Here is why. The four original suits all got disassembled during the springtrap incident. In FNAF2 these same suits were in the process of being repaired and retrofitted implying they were broken. Second key note is that springtrap was found in a sealed room. Phoneguy annouced the sealing of the rooms, requiring him to be alive at the time, and the building to have not yet been abandoned. The description of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza #1 as rotting still matches what is seen in the game. The room was sealed for "budget reasons". More like covering up of a dead body to save the restaurant from liability over dangerous equipment. Since the purple guys soul continued to haunt springtrap in the sealed room the spirits of dead children could never rest.
But wait, if the purple guy dies before FNAF2, then how could he also cause the golden freddy incident in FNAF2? The answer is that there is more than one purple guy. More accurately, all adults and security guards are purple guys. Notice how you never see any other adults in any minigames, and how the suits always try to stuff every security guard into a suit. Its because suit stuffing is how they killed the first purple guy with springtrap. Since they see every security guard as a purple guy, they always try to stuff you in a suit. Management merely invented the seeing you as an endoskeleton out of your suit as an excuse to explain it away.
In FNAF2 a new purple guy uses the goldenfreddy suit to kill four new children, who get stuffed into the toy suits. This causes the suits to "now none of them are acting right." now all the suits have the souls of children attached save for golden bonnie. Which this additional murder, all the suits now distrust all adults completely. This also causes the toy suits to start leaking blood and mucus from the eyes, which in addition to the bite of 87 gets Freddy Fazbears pizzeria #2 shutdown and the old suits moved to the location of FNAF1.
Why does multiple purple guys make sense. Because child's places get plagued by more than just one pedophile
