I’m probably overthinking this but here goes…

I should be maxing out the 15k LifeWorks bonus on my AMEX Cobalt sometime soon. I’m 4 months into owning it, so I’ve got about 8 months left of spending $500 on food and drink to max out the SUB @ 2500 MR/month. At the same time I’ve now got an AMEX AP Reserve that I’m working on as of this month. I should be able to hit the $6k total spend and $1k/month spend, so no issues there with hitting 95k MR SUBs.

My plan was to put all food and drink on the Cobalt and virtually everything else on the APR, but I’m now wondering if I should be diverting all spending to the APR once the first Cobalt bonus is maxed. Reason being is I think I can probably hit the 25k spend for the Worldwide Companion Pass, and I’d like to progress towards earning some level of AC status.

I’ve calculated that I’d be giving up 32,000 MR between the multiplier difference and SUB rewards by veering away from the Cobalt. At 0.2 cpp that’s $640.

Would hitting that $25k on the APR put me over the top in terms of value? How do people quantify the value of AC status? Am I way off base here thinking it’s crazy to stop using the Cobalt for the 5x multiplier? Anything else I’m missing?
