D'Angelo Russell and Lonzo Ball are both coming out the same draft class. No drama around any of them. Lakers are on the clock. Who should they take?

One of the best passers in college in the past few years

Fantastic on the fast break, either scoring himself or getting an assist

Elite at P&R in college

Has been a very good scorer overall in college, just a step down from fultz in that regard imo. I think he will continue to be great around the rim due to his handles and length, but I'm not sure about his jump shot. He was shooting 40+% from 3 in college, and most of his shots were virtually NBA range, but his mechanics could mean he won't be as good on the next level.

So basically, he's an elite passer, either on the fast break or on the pick and roll (most important skill for an NBA PG nowadays), and he's been a very good shooter/scorer in college, although he might be hindered by his form on the next level, but at the very least he should be serviceable from 3 point range, another vital skill for NBA point guards

Also, he's long, so scouts think he could become better defensively. I don't really buy this, tons of players are long but never really use their physical tools to become good defenders, (see: Wiggins), but he could improve in that respect
