Netflix became netflix solely cause it was the first guy with skin in the game. Every network saw it as a small revenue stream to put their movies on it. But netflix has known for years that sooner or later every tom, dick, and disney was gonna have their own streaming service.

Remember when netflix first started making their own shows? House of cards and orange is the new black? It was a little weird, right? Like if blockbuster had started making their own movies exclusive to their stores. But that was netflix just being a forward thinking company, and they knew sooner or later their vast library of other peoples movies and shows would get called home to their owners.

And thats why it doesnt matter that its their 4th most watched show. Cause it cant last forever and its very existance advertises for what will likely soon be their biggest rival. They know dare devils good for them now, but isn't going to serve them well later.
