The Dark Side of Rescue in Boston: My experiences volunteering at MA's largest dog rescue

All of these "volunteers" cough cough coordinators who are doxxing OP and saying this stuff isn't true are so full of crap. I'm a current foster and this stuff OP is saying is ALL true. Such a clique mentality. The bullying OP is being subjected to by the coordinators right now is the exact type of bullying that goes on all the time on the foster Facebook group. The other day another foster posted an article about how bullying frequently goes on in rescue and there was a complete pile on by the coordinators telling her how they've never seen any bullying. I had a nice chuckle out of it because the ones commenting and getting so defensive were the ones who do the most bullying/talking crap about other volunteers behind their backs.

I know at least 15 other fosters who feel the same way as myself and OP. Several have left the rescue because of it. Others are thinking of leaving but feel trapped because they love the dogs and want to help them. Our southern fosters have told other fosters including me that they are afraid to send dogs up north because the adoptions team doesn't listen about what type of home the dog should be placed in(I.e. The southern foster explicitly stating the dog should not go to a home with kids, and then goes to a home with kids! Or southern foster stating dog must go to a home outside of city because of fears of loud noises and then dog ends up in home smack in the middle of downtown Boston)

The mission of this rescue is solid, but unfortunately they have serious problems with their personnel and need to do some extreme restructuring/redistribution of power if they want to hang onto their fosters.

Unfortunately the dogs are the ones who will suffer as the rescue continues to lose fosters over their petty, middle school BS. Come down from your high horse and wake up.

Also-YES, their head "trainer" just bought a purebred puppy for her daughter to use as a showdog in aKc comps. Basically going against everything the rescue supposedly stands for. hypocritical to the MAX
