Seems like a simple and quick fix to keep cars out of the bike lanes. Boston needs to throw these down ASAP. Seen in Cambridge.

Who is "we" and what did they try? Changing nothing about our car-brained culture and throwing bikes in the mix and hoping it would all work itself out? I can count on no hands the number of times cyclists were mentioned in my drivers ed course or during my driving test.

Segregating bikes from traffic ruins the inherent efficiency of cycling in city spaces which de-incentivizes cycling all together. And anecdotally, the only time I've ever been hit by a car was when a driver turning across a protected bike lane failed to yield because they "didn't know a bike lane was there" despite the bollards and curbs and green paint. I couldn't count the number of times I've had other close calls while "protected"

I ride for a living, I stopped using protected bike lanes for my own safety. Its a cultural problem, not an infrastructural one You cant fix stupid with a few concrete parking blocks.
