A lot of the gettleman criticism is warranted. However, it’s not hard to see why they may bring him back for another season. All of his moves last offseason were solid. He nailed free agency by adding 3 starters who have changed our defense in Logan Ryan, Blake Martinez and James Bradberry. The Leonard Williams trade paid off tremendously this season. We had a bunch of young draft picks meaningfully contribute this season (something we rarely saw under reese and coughlin). Add in the unique difficulties in hiring a new GM with only a few months to prepare for the draft during a pandemic which limits personal interaction with co-workers, staff and draft prospects and coaches etc. The risk of making a move now probably doesn’t outweigh 1 more offseason.
