Do De'aaron Fox and Ja Morant have similar levels of talent?

As a Grizz and Ja fan, I think so. Similar. I think Ja has an edge in some regards, maybe slight edge overall. I dont know anything about his leadership or cohesion in the locker room. But SGA is definitely a great core piece to have for any team trying to make a deep run (assuming good organizational factors).

And a lot of it has to do with team performance. Atlantas struggles after their ECF has affected Traes perception, maybe warrantedly (that... may not be a real word). One thing that helped Ja and the Grizz has been a consistent trajectory. Until now, every year since the organizational revolution in 2019, they improved on the the previous year. Hopefully that continues. But the front office has even tried to warn Grizz fans that it was not reasonable to expect this rapid, linear growth to continue, they never internally projected it or counted on it. Especially not now that the progress has entered the playoffs. But the playin game over GSW went into OT. They could have lost that. In many ways it is a product of Ja, in other ways a product of the team overall. In some ways it is a product of circumstance outside the team. But circumstances outside the player can add to the player's extraordinary performance and accomplishment. And i expect that to affect SGA. For good and for bad.

Once OKC starts making playoff runs, and assuming his highlights and play increase in the playoffs like Ja and most stars do, SGAs reputation will grow, too. His star will rise, and depending on how Ja and the Grizz do, their star may fall. I just hope that, as their fan, if that happens, I hope it rebounds quickly. I just hope SGA vs Ja comparisons can be more civil than other fanbases' comparisons of their point guards with Ja.
