Decided to try Total War Kingdoms, followed by immediate deletion.

They don't just expect it, they rely on those people to support their games.

Like I said before, they deserve SOME compensation for their work, and honestly, the game doesn't look like something I'd pay monthly for.

The freemium game industry refers to these people as "whales". They think that lowly of them and they don't even care, let alone are aware of how negative that sounds.

Do they actually call them that, or do critics of freemium games call them that?

Well for them there is very little at all to me not paying.

Not them. The gamers. What I'm saying is, is it a game where you have to pay to enjoy it? Is it a game where you can pay to progress faster? Is it a game where you end up having to pay before you can have any fun with it at all?

I don't lump all freemium games together, because merely being freemium doesn't affect the gameplay for me. It's how shitty and greedy the developers are about it.

The majority of people who end up not paying aren't their target audience. As for my disadvantage, well I don't get a few minutes of very basic "fun".

Doesn't matter to me what their target audience is, if I'm playing their game and enjoying it for free. And if they don't care if I don't play, I'm not sure how that's my problem, either.

I'm not sure what any of this has to do with whether or not I would consider a game good. If you're trying to change my opinion, telling me the insight of a dev isn't going to do it, because you and I both use plenty of products made by greedy corporations. Why should this be any different?

I gave up on all the ones I've played once they expected me to wait 3 days to play again.

I've become cynical of phone games all together. I only bother with them when I need to kill time for a little bit, and I don't expect them to last as long as something made for PC. That being said, while being bored, I've found a few good ones for my phone.

I automatically delete if there's an energy bar and they expect me to wait a certain length of time to play again unless I pay. I automatically delete when I start getting notifications that I need to log into my account. But again, not all freemium games do this. Your complains don't seem to fit freemium games in general, just a large portion of them. I tend to judge each one individually, and it's usually so easy to weed out the bad ones, all I have to do is look at the screenshots before I download them.

So you don't consider these games worth spending money on at all? You don't feel they are good enough for you to feel that they are worth you spending money on to enjoy? Says quite a bit about them, doesn't it?

That doesn't make them bad, it just means they aren't great. I wouldn't pay to go outside and enjoy the fresh air, or hang out with my friends. Does that "say quite a bit" about the outdoors and my friends? No. That's a terrible way to gauge whether or not something is good.
