Descriptive Pain Scale

A doctor attempted to perform a lumber punch on me, said he had done it before (he lied), I was probably 12 years old - I have/had back problems at the time, so getting to the curled position was painful enough, I honestly don't remember all of it, the doctor spent about what felt like hours inserting nice big needles into my back, he forgot to administer the painkillers according to the report/investigation - I could feel it hitting my bone, scraping, going through the spinal nerve - levering it, breaking off needles, I remember drifting in and out of consciousness or my mind going, doctor stopped when the nurses stopped him, when I got back to my bed I was told I still have to have a lumber punch later. There is no way I could convey the pain I suffered.

I have had broken multiple vertebrae - I still do in my neck, nerve damage, I walked/hobbled for 7 miles on a ruptured hamstring - my entire leg was black at the end of it - was in a cast for 6 months - going to the toilet was near impossible, I've had meningitis as a child - my first lumber punch/spinal tap - the blinding light was what I remember now and the buckets of poo soup I dispensed that day in-front of about 8 medical staff in a small room, I stood to attention in cadets while my appendix burst, half my mouth is broken off. But nothing compares to pure nerve pain.

It was all worth it so my mum could shut up about her painful childbirth :) got to look for the bright side of things :p
