'Despicable' fraud costs NHS £1bn a year

This is some really good feel good nonsense that runs headlong into reality.

Try being on incapacity benefit without having actually received any money for 2 months, that when it does come through most of which will go to pay off the ridiculous B&B surcharge - and being there because you've been discharged directly from hospital (which caused you to lose your flat and most of your possessions).

When you're trying to survive on a £50 emergency fund loan every 2 weeks...

That £2 you just spent to get the bus to the pharmacist, that's double digits % of how much you have to survive on for the next week.

I've been through it all mate, it's not feel good nonsense, you just have no idea what it means to be poor.

Not all benefits entitle you to free prescriptions. You will have to pay for your prescriptions even if you’re included in an award of: contribution-based Jobseeker’s Allowance paid on its own contribution-based Employment and Support Allowance paid on its own Pension Credit (Savings Credit) paid on its own any other bene t paid on its own and not listed in the green box below (such as Disability Living Allowance, Personal Independence Payment, Incapacity Bene t etc.).
