HS2 construction to be delayed to save money

I think that’s not necessarily the case, at least I don’t see it that way. We just lack basic infrastructure in many places outside London. Leeds, where I live, is a good example: northern rail is a joke, there is not even a good mass transport system even though it’s a pretty big and spread out city, we just have one very unreliable bus operator that is constantly delaying or cancelling services without prior notice. HS2 was initially sold as a way of connecting the country and building the “northern powerhouse” by significantly shortening travel times between big cities up here. What we are getting instead is yet another London transport link. When you hear about projects like Elizabeth line (which I think is great, used it the other day) and this “delay” which will surely end up in cancellation we get frustrated. Sorry if I sounded rude in my previous comment, im just jealous and fed up I guess.
