Despite what Finebaum says, OU wants the Big 12 to work

This article is a reaction to a notoriously inflammatory radio personality dredging up a topic that this sub has spent at least 2 years claiming to be sick to death of. In the original article, he cited "only rumors" and talked out of his ass about stuff everyone already knew from months beforehand. The topic of OU's interest in leaving had already been covered; frustration with the lack of a conference network, Boren repeatedly putting his foot in his mouth, all of this had already been beaten into everyone's heads for months. The discussion had subsided.

There isn't a single original thought presented in either the article about Finebaum's thoughts or Barry Tremel's response. "OU would like to maintain its relationship with its current rivals / maintain its comfortable geographical fit in this conference," "OU is making good money," "OU is worried about the health and perception of the Big XII," "Here is a list of conferences and the well-known, well-covered issues regarding their willingness to accept OU," blablablablabla.

This, to me, is peak offseason. It's writers digging up old conversations and contributing nothing to them. Just repeating what already been said to fill space on a website or a newspaper.
