Chinese State Media Highlights Putin's 'Daunting' Losses in Ukraine

"Despite its daunting losses on the battlefield, Russia has only resorted to 'partial mobilization' at home, and it continues to insist it is engaged in 'special military operations' rather than a war," the editorial reads. "The European Union and the United States and its allies have limited their aid to Ukraine to arms supplies and intelligence support, so that they won't be seen as 'participating.'"

That is surprisingly supportive of the EU and USA. They accepted that limiting aid to everything but actually fighting for them as non-participation.

I think China just wants stability so they can accomplish their goals. Russia is probably testing their patience to a degree unmatched by the USA. Dealing with NATO nuclear exercises is far easier for them than the Russia situation.
