Details of Serge Aurier's case

Okay, so I'm going to try and explain the details involved in Serge Aurier's case re: criminal conviction and subsequent UK Visa issues. He was charged with assaulting a police officer in September 2016 and was handed a two-month suspended custodial sentence. PSG then were set to face Arsenal at the Emirates in the CL in November 2016. PSG suggested Aurier was granted a visa to travel but that it was revoked at the last minute. Now this was beleived to be a Tier 2 Sportsperson visa which means he can stay in a country for up to 3 years. UK immigration rules dictate that a non-eu person with a criminal conviction of under 12 months within last five years will be refused such a visa.

Now here is where it gets interesting with regards to a MUFC/PL transfer. As it stands he would again be refused a visa, however Aurier has launched an appeal against his initial conviction and charge. This case is set to be heard in France on August 7 I believe. Now if this appeal is succesful then there is likely no longer grounds for the UK Home Office to refuse him a tier 2 Sportsperson visa as the conviction would in theory no longer be there. Now if he fails in his appeal then it would appear any transfer to Premier League would be impossible. I must say there are far more expert legal minds on this matter, I've just given a brief outline of my understanding of the situation.
