To be fair, the U.S. media questioned it during the 2016 primary season as Obama began winning states. The media dropped the topic, without receiving any confirmation of his eligibility, after he won the primary. Trump felt it was very important that federal authorities verify that he was eligible to be president, however he kept dragging up the topic years after Obama took office which made him annoying. To this day the only evidence released to confirm Obama's eligibility was a "Certificate of Live Birth" which was released as a direct result of Trump's comments. The "Certificate of Live Birth" still does not prove U.S. Citizenship, however it was enough to convince Trump to stop bringing up the topic.
