[Discussion] The Goal and the Road

1. What is a specific example of your skincare goals or troubles?
Completely repairing my moisture barrier so that it's a little less reactionary to life things. Adjacent to that is fixing CCs and PIE and textured skin.

2. What is the status of your progress on that particular goal/trouble? Sort of working. I get complacent cos my skin laps up hydration and gets plump and the redness calms down, so that the CCs, PIE, and textured skin look less troubled. Even the tone evens out. But if I drink, or have a naughty day, it all comes flaming back to me.
3. What ingredients help?
Ceramides, arbutin, probably niananicide. Also the above mentioned hydration, I have a 3 part situation just to keep hydrating.
4. What are your chosen products? How did you get introduced to them? Why did you choose these products over other formulations?
For hydration:

  1. How did you get here? Any pitfalls, detours, and misconceptions in the way? I thought my warm, red cheeks were a symptom of my dehydration problem, so I layered up on Hada Labo Gokujyun Hyaluronic Lotion (Moist). When that didn't help, I got Gokujyun Premium, and promptly broke out. Then I got it into my head that my red cheeks were a pigmentation problem, so I used Melano CC Essence on them. They got dry and flaky in less than a day, so that adventure was cut short. A friend had to point out that the redness and warmth might benefit more from soothing, anti-inflammation products, and that's how I added honey into the mix. The incorporation of rice product was by chance, as explained above.
  2. Any future plans? I am quite happy with my serum and toner, and I think I will continue using them for some time. I've been curious about Holy Snails' products for quite a while, and since this month's Sauce Du Mois is Honey Shark, I finally pulled the trigger and am waiting for my shipment. I also ordered samples of Snowbang, which is supposedly soothing on the skin.
