[Discussion] Today is Grump Day. Use this thread to vent about something, ANYTHING, that made you Grump. That's what Grump Day is all about. Let it out.

Oh I shouldn't be responding to this. I really shouldn't be responding to this. I'm getting sucked into the stupidest debate ever. Fuck.

0.5) Sure they have the right to be criticized and sell less copies. For not having one of their characters pose with their butt sticking out. I have the right to think it's completely fucking pants-on-head moronic to care this much about it. The thought of anybody cancelling their pre-order because Blizzard gave into SW propaganda or whatever is actually hilarious to me. Good riddance. The community doesn't need them.

1) That single person had no pressure. They were offended, maybe, but like I said before, Blizzard didn't have to listen to them. They happened to have agreed to an extent and, as they said, were already deciding on removing a placeholder victory screen for a better one anyway. But regardless, why should anybody be angry that Blizzard is listening to fans and taking their feedback to heart?

2) The slut or nun trope is a feminist issue that affects a lot of media, but it doesn't apply here. They didn't take away Tracer's tight pants or cover her up with a burqa or something to fit the family friendly image, they removed a victory screen where she showed off her butt, to show she's more than her butt. Female video game characters are SO OFTEN fanservice first and personality second, and Blizzard made a conscious effort to pull their game further from that.

Here's how I see it when people say "OH SHE'S NOT ALLOWED TO BE SEXY!?!?" Ever watch women's soccer or basketball? When a team wins, count how many players do a stripper pose for the audiences afterwards. Probably not many. They are, in all statistical likelihood, sexual beings with adult relationships, but that fact doesn't permeate everything about them. Tracer doesn't need it either. They could write Tracer like that. But they don't need to. I mean, it's not like they took away her skin-tight pants totally. Yeah, believe it or not, that's still in the game. They just didn't feel a need to have one of her victory poses, which are brief animations to sum up a characters personality, just be her butt.

3) This is "rabble rabble anti-SJW nonsense". They're mad because somebody posted their opinion. An opinion that likely changed nothing, and at worst, merely pushed up something that was on Blizzard's time table for a while. But even if we decide that Blizzard executives looked at this single message and said "SHIT, THIS HELEN LOVEJOY HAS GOT A POINT!" it means that, despite the rating and the themes of murder and guns (despite nobody actually permanently dying in-game) they like the idea of spreading a positive message to children. That you can be a hero without wearing skin-tight pants and twerking when you win. In video games, that can be a hard message to find.

But of course, just listen to everybody flailing their arms and screaming because Blizzard removed a small cutscene and parrot their opinions.
