Does 911 know how to respond if you’re held at gunpoint and you talk to them like you’re taking to someone else?

I’m a 911 dispatcher. Can confirm this is the case. It’s assumed that the call is an emergency situation until confirmed otherwise by police. Landlines auto populate in CAD (computer aided dispatch) with the address/name/number they’re attached to. We can also pull cell phone coordinates as long as the caller remains on the line. The accuracy is dependent on the callers carrier/signal strength. When we pull coordinates we also get a confidence rating which tells us how accurate the location information is. Additionally we use a 3rd party application called Rapidlite. We can enter the phone number while a caller is on the line with us and track the caller in real time on a map.

Fun fact. Prank calls, “butt dials” or otherwise “non emergency shouldn’t be calling 911 for this” happen way more than I ever expected.
