Why doesn’t Hollywood make many movies about World War 1?

OTOH my grandfather served in WW-I, as did 2 of my great uncles; my grandfather and one great-uncle for the US, my great uncle for Germany. (Great grandparents came over in 1900, older kid stayed in Germany, younger ones came with). Miraculously they all survived.

In WW-II, all of my uncles on both my mothers and fathers side served, as did my aunt who was old enough. I had cousins served for Germany.

So there are still some connections for WW-I, but there are indeed far fewer than for WW-II, simply for the extra 20-30 years in between, depending on how you count.

I met up with a few of those cousins when I was a student in Germany back in the early 70s. It was interesting to say the least.
