I don’t want to be alone, but I’m starting to hate being around other people. I want friends and close relationships, but at the same time I’d rather isolate myself and never have to worry about socializing at all.

Remember you are still in high school, you have so much ahead of you. Be proud that you’re pushing yourself out of your comfort zones, but remember to take care of yourself and your mental health. If being in your own company gives you relief, try to give yourself that. It’s okay to sit alone reading a book, working on a project, or even going out to eat or to the movies by yourself. Let yourself socialize when the moment comes, and try not to force it. These things take time and it doesn’t come naturally for everyone. I’m 30 and socializing is something I’ve had to practice since I was on middle school. It gets better over time, you’re already taking all the right steps.
