The duality of man

I mean, everyone says last year everyone over performed and so you want to give chaim credit for the overperformance of a team he built, but not the players that performed well? I see everyone on this sub shitting on Eovaldi and these players for underperforming, but Eovaldi has been regressing in velocity, and overall as a pitcher since we got him at the trade deadline the year we won the world series. Everyone is shitting on Renfoeroes horrific post season but Eovaldi was destroyed by the Astros last year. Shouldn't chaim have signed a starting pitcher to be the #1 starter for this team this year? Because free agency doesnt have much available this year. Pivetta is a #5 starter at best, and Paxton is getting paid to rehab. Rich Hill is too old, only Wacha has performed great this year but who knows whatll happen next year. We will see how Casas plays out, but starting off with Bobby Dalbec at first base, Hernandez at center, and JBJ at right field, and saying we had an off season because of injury is just dishonest. We didnt have a closer, we had a bargain bin bullpen, our rotation was Wacha, an injury prone in decline Eovaldi, Pivetta, and Rich Hill who is over 40 years old and Paxon maybe with Tommy John Surgery.

So yeah, either over performed last year, which means he drastically underperformed this year, he didnt make any signings with all of this money coming off the books except for trevor story, and idk Trevor is good but an Ace would be great too for this staff. Are we waiting for Bello to become the #1 ace for this rotation? I hope we make offers for pitchers like Degrom or Rodon this offseason, and Chris Bassit would be a solid middle rotation guy and diaz for the bullpen and he resigns xander and extends devers, then we are talking, but if he brings an anemic bargain bin team with regresssing players, he deserves this hate and to be fired after next year.
