US Election Day Megathread 2016

I've been bouncing back and forth but I'm still mostly undecided. It will come down to when I sit down at that table at my polling station most likely.

With a large chunk of the world most definitely in an unstable status, when we're dealing with other powers I'll want someone who is collected and will listen to their aids. I know trump likes beating that drum but I think he'd probably lean to his aids in foreign affairs. Hillary, given her time with the state department, I'm sure also knows some very smart people on the matter. But she constantly irked me in the debates by going "Look at my fact sheet!", I don't think Russia or China will bother to look up her webpage before calling.

Being former military, this is probably my largest factor. I'll get it figured out, but its tough. Both have major flaws in my eyes when it comes to working with other nations.

Second would have to be business and economy, which I fully believe trump has on top of Hillary, 1 on 1, hands down. Once again though, these people are going to be surrounded by experts in their fields, so how much does that really matter? Enough to the point where you want them to be supporting the right ideas, and not blocking things that need to get done. When it comes to the job market and economies, I do think trump would do more to support in country reconstruction and manufacturing, if at just the minimum. Hillary I really feel would just support more of the same systems that we've been on for nearly 30 years now.

There's many other factors, which all tie in to why this is so close for me. I'm not sure how I feel about "power families" taking turns running the country, but I fight with myself on how much or how little it actually matters.

In all truthfulness, I'm more behind all the other elections. While I feel the president is an important person, he/she can only really get done what they are allowed to get done. I think it's important to get a foundation at those levels.

If all else fails, I have taken my lucky half dollar coin out of the lockbox. We'll see what happens.
