Episode 239 - LIVE from the Chicago Improv Festival 2017

never, ever let politics divide you from people with whom you basically agree

I agree, but it's such a double-edged sword with the relevant topics. Bernie & Hillary had a ~90% similarity rate in their senate voting records. Their presidential platforms were basically the exact same shit at varying degrees, with very slight variations on a vast majority of issues. I constantly see self-proclaimed liberals talking about how they're "done" with the Democratic party for this or that while the GOP is actively working against everything liberals have ever stood & fought for.

I agree that no individual vote can plausibly make a difference, but Jimmy shared a view that's quite popular, a shitload of comments in this post are what he described. People act like Bernie only lost because of DNC interference in the primary process when, afaik, there's no proof whatsoever that the DNC ever interfered in the voting process...FFS, Bernie's campaign was caught stealing voter info from Hillary's campaign through the DNC & then tried to sue the DNC when they enforced their rules, but the DNC still dropped it in the name of placating Bernie supporters

You mentioned demographics from the general election, but nobody ever talks about the fact that Sanders drastically underperformed with minority voters in the dem primaries. When it comes to the perpetuation of the democratic primary circlejerk, the fact that 3.7 million people voted for Hillary over Sanders rarely come up.
