Episode Discussion - Shameless - 6x10 "Paradise Lost"

Debbie - Yes. Just yes! The birth scene was SHAMELESS!! For some reason it sort of took me back to that scene when Mickey got shot in the butt cheek - screaming, people everywhere, total chaos. And, Oh! That moment at the end with Fiona when Debbie tells the ambulance guy that it's just her and her daughter had me choking up. Definitely not the best circumstances, but Debbie's gonna do this thing. I wonder whether Fiona will follow through with kicking her and the baby out of the house.

Lip - Completely throwing his life away. Hopefully he'll realize the opportunities that have been handed to him before it's too late. Ironic that he used to be the one with the most hope in his future, but this season it looks like Carl, Ian, and Fiona are moving forward and he's the only one backpeddling.

Ian - LOVED seeing him ace the EMT exam! This is so good for him. It has that same sense of purpose and structure as the military and it looks like he's be gonna be really at it. I don't know how I feel about Caleb telling him to lie on the application, though. Any thoughts? To my knowledge you aren't required to disclose medical information on a job application (?), but regardless it felt kinda out of the blue that Caleb was pushing him to check "no" on the app and send it in. Hope it doesn't come back to bite him, but this is a struggle I am happy to see them putting forward. So many people with health issues, disabilities, etc. face the question: To disclose or not to disclose? It is true to life to already see him grappling with this issue. It will be with him for the rest of his life.

Fiona/Sean - I am happy to see her happy (for now), but I sure would've loved for them to court a little longer. I can't imagine the wedding moving forward without a hitch (this is Shameless after all!) I'm curious to see what direction the show will take for this relationship as the season finale nears.

Carl - Will he become a cop? I can totally see that. I love Dominique and it's cute to see him whipped already. Ahhh...young love.

Frank - Sorry guys, but his character annoys me to no end. Ugh - if I have to watch yet another repulsive sex scene with him, I just don't know. I was hoping for another chance at them killing his character off. Looks like they faked me out...again.
